Arrest and Humiliation of a transsexual person in Hammamet Tunisia

During a routine check of papers early morning in Hammamet, two transsexual people were taken to the police station and humiliated.
Insults and homophobic remarks against the two young people at the police station in Hammamet North says one of the passengers of the car that was trained at the station, physically assaulted and forced to sign a report without reading it.
The other young person, a 19-year-old transsexual was, meanwhile, harassed and beaten by the agents of the post, before being charged without clear reason, says the passenger.
On the other hand, the Shams association issued a statement denouncing the arrest reminding that “art-226  of the Penal Code allows the police to be the judge of public morality and to persecute transsexuals and homosexuals displayed “.
